Custom Tattoo Design Interview

Custom Tattoo Design Interview

Custom Tattoo Design artists work around the clock to draw the best tattoo designs for their clients. The wonderful website interface allows people to jump straight into the tattoo design process with experts in the field. All you need to do is send your tattoo idea, select your artist, and then work with them to create your own custom tattoo. While the site alone is worth talking about, I want to step back and take a look behind the scenes. Today, we have the opportunity to talk to the brilliant minds behind Custom Tattoo Design and see the inner workings of this fabulous site. Check out our Custom Tattoo Design interview!

Custom Tattoo Design Interview: First Details

When asked what they do, they replied, “We sell 100% custom-made tattoo designs. These designs can later be used as the blueprint for your tattoo—or as a piece of art for your home!” Makes sense, right? The fact that you can use these art pieces for something else didn’t even occur to me when I browsed their site. A lovely living room piece is a decent consolation prize if you’re not satisfied (and even then, they do have a money back guarantee).

Custom Tattoo Design Interview: Breaking New Ground

They founded the site in 2012, initially as a marketing company. “We found a niche market for those seeking custom tattoo designs, and then we created our business around that market space. At the time, there were over 3.5 million people searching for ‘tattoo designs’ on the web, with a low barrier for entry. Now that’s a busy space to be in!”

From there, they improvised and created a one-of-a-kind site. “We send people to our website, CustomTattooDesign.ca . Once they’re there, they put their idea into an online submission form, telling us what they want their design to be like.” Once the artists know the scope of the job, they can provide a quote. “We charge them 50% of the total cost upfront, and then we connect them with their own professional artist, who works back and forth with them to create a 100% custom design.”

Custom Tattoo Design Interview: The Role of Artists

Artists bend over backwards to ensure their clients get the design they need. “The artist works with our customer until they’re perfectly happy with their product. When the customer signs off on the final tattoo design, they pay the other 50%. We send them a high definition copy of the design, and they have full rights to their tattoo design—meaning we cannot and do not reproduce or resell anyone’s design.” This crucial part ensures that not only is your tattoo unique, but also that no one else copies your design in the future.

So, how do they find their artists? What sort of selection process do they go through? They revealed their secrets to us. “We find our artists online through social media or advertising. We have an art director who critiques their portfolio based on the quality of their art work, and then we make the job offer. In some cases, we ask them to design a few pieces to see if they’re a good fit for us.” The end result is a huge team of highly qualified tattoo artists working at the site!

They continued to talk about their pricing, giving us the details on how they determine the cost. “We try to offer what we think is the correct value for our artists. Then, we set the standard for the market, and the market followed us. We tested prices for five years, and over time we deduced what a fair price was—all things considered.”

Custom Tattoo Design Interview: Services

Custom Tattoo Design is by no means the only place you can commission a unique design on the internet. Just a simple Google search will show you all of the alternatives. Thankfully, Custom Tattoo Design sets itself apart from the crowd with more than its age or experience. “We’re the only site that offers one-on-one time with professional artists. Our customer service is the backbone of our business, and our speed and quality are unprecedented. So, we make it very difficult for competitors to match our standards.” As it turns out, hard work and perseverance keeps them on the top of the industry!

Of course, Custom Tattoo Design represents more than just a business. The site owners and designers all strive to achieve something more meaningful than a service. “Our goal is to offer the highest quality product and to grow the tattoo industry. We want to allow others to start their tattoo process comfortably, and we want them to feel fully confident before getting their tattoo. In the future, we hope to continue to gain market share and eventually grow into a larger company that offers high end products and services in the tattoo marketplace.” Lofty goals, but I have no doubt they will succeed.

Custom Tattoo Design Interview: Trials and Tribulations

At the end of the day, though, even Custom Tattoo Design has its struggles. First impressions and a lack of knowledge about the history of tattoo designs on the net affect its reputation. However, Custom Tattoo Design is prepared to deal with that stigma. “The industry itself hasn’t been as receptive to our business because we are changing the industry. The current marketplace assumes that we are acting as parasites to the industry, but our ultimate goal is to help the industry grow and thrive. We want to bring in new people, and we want to help the public come to understand tattoos as a legitimate art form.”

Of course, we at InkDoneRight can agree—the Inked World is full of beautiful and dazzling art! We also want to bring those designs to the forefront and dazzle the masses with a peek at the Inked World. You can find all sorts of articles to that effect on our site. They continued on, “At the bottom of things, we’re trying to make the tattoo world more relevant and welcoming. In order to be successful, we need to work together with everyone involved.” After hearing this, we had to post our full interview here. The wonderful world of tattoo art and design goes underrated. Sometimes, even people who wear tattoos think of it as a trend! Let’s all work together to make sure these pieces of art get the love they deserve!
